Giving open, honest, timely feedback is one of the most important roles a leader plays. It’s also possibly the number one area where a leader can get derailed. Avoiding difficult conversations can become a major obstacle to organisational success.
A Coaching Approach to Managing Challenging Conversations program provides a practical, conversational structure for achieving synergistic solutions where all parties feel heard and respected. This advanced-skills one-day workshop shares tools and resources to guide potentially difficult conversations in a way that is non-confrontational and Solutions Focused.
This program develops skills and confidence to effectively lead the following types of difficult conversations: managing under-performance, giving sensitive feedback, and change management.

A Coaching Approach to Managing Challenging Conversations is suitable for those in leadership and managerial roles seeking to develop skills to effectively manage challenging workplace conversations.
Participants should have experience with the GROWTH model through participation in a foundational program such as Introduction to Leadership Coaching or the Coaching Accreditation Program.
This program can be run within a school (minimum 12 participants) or within a community of schools. Individuals, pairs or small groups may attend a public program - these are available in all regions. Refer to Current Workshops for dates.
This workshop provides a practical, conversational structure for achieving synergistic solutions where all parties feel heard and respected.
In addition to the presenter modelling constructive management of typical challenging workplace conversations, participants will also have the opportunity to reflect on, and practise real life scenarios that involve potentially difficult interactions.
Completing the Managing Challenging Conversations 1-day program addresses the following domains and standards for Lead teacher from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers as published by the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL): 3.5.4, 3.7.4, 4.1.4, 5.2.4, 6.3.4, 7.1.4, 7.2.4, 7.3.4
The duration of the program is 6 hours.
Completing the Managing Challenging Conversations 1-day program will contribute 6 hours of NESA Registered PD addressing 3.5.4, 3.7.4, 4.1.4, 5.2.4, 6.3.4, 7.1.4, 7.2.4, 7.3.4 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Lead Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
Upon completion of a survey after your workshop you will receive a GCI certificate of participation. You may also wish to add the program to your LinkedIn qualifications.
